About Poppy Press and the Publisher

Poppy Press is a small imprint Publisher whose founder is Barbara Dourmashkin-Case. Barbara is a writer and illustrator and has also worked For Disney, Warner Bros, Universal and other animation studios as an Emmy winning Animation Director. Barbara has written and directed the award winning children’s films Isabella and the Magic Brush and Petronella, which are fairytales about heroines, and has directed and animated animation for Sesame Street. Barbara has a BA from Brandeis and a Master’s of Education from UC Berkeley . Her book Peggy Day’s Martha’s Vineyard Adventures reflects her happy childhood summers on Martha’s Vineyard. Barbara was born in New York and now lives in Los Angeles with her husband Geoffrey Case and her two daughters Natasha and Sarah Case.
